The Uplift Mofo Party Plan is Red Hot Chili Peppers' third studio album.
It was released the same year as the fIREHOSE album If'n (1987), the first of three pairs of albums the two bands released the same year.
It was the only studio album to feature all founding members (although this line-up previously played on the band's 1983 Demo), before Hillel Slovak's death and Jack Irons' departure in 1988. The album is more revolved around hard funk rock/heavy metal, obvious in songs such as "Backwoods" and "Me and My Friends". As Flea later stated in his biography, it is their "rockiest" album to date.
It features guest backing vocals by Fishbone members John Norwood Fisher and Angelo Moore.
